| Star Hotels purchased three lots that had three abandoned buildings. Star Hotels joined with the City/University Partnership and agreed to demolish the building ahead of development the vacant properties were havens for looters and the homeless. “ We had anticipated the demolition for years. An obstacle-laden process, however, stalled the leveling for three exhaustive years, said Roberto DeNechoc-hea, executive director of the City-University Partnership that this demolition left an unfamiliar but welcomed gap in the 8700 block of Route 1.
Star Hotels is currently working on construction of an upscale housing complex with retail shops and restaurants.
